Are you looking for a non-surgical solution to facial folds, sagging skin, and deep wrinkles? Perhaps you want fuller lips or plumper cheeks? If so, you may be a great candidate for Juvederm hyaluronic acid filler, available at DRS Skincare in Hamilton ON.
Hyaluronic acid is a gel-like compound that is present in many tissues in the human body. Its primary function is water retention. In the skin, it helps keep cells plump and hydrated. Naturally occurring hyaluronic acid quickly breaks down and dissipates, though our bodies continuously replenish it.
Unfortunately, as we age the skin’s ability to produce hyaluronic acid decreases. Simultaneously, collagen and elastin production slows, and the fatty layer beneath the skin becomes thinner. The cumulative effect of these and other factors is dryer skin and an overall loss of volume. Dermal fillers such as Juvederm are designed to replenish tissue volume, with long-lasting results.
The hyaluronic acid in Juvederm functions much like that produced by our bodies, with one very important difference: it lasts much longer. Whereas hyaluronic acid in its natural state may dissipate within a few days or less, Juvederm injections can easily last from six to eighteen months.
In addition to Juvederm, we also carry Belotero, Radiesse, and Teosyal fillers.
Each patient and each situation is unique. We consider all the necessary factors to design a treatment plan that is suited ideally to the individual. Everyone is welcome at drs skin care in Hamilton for quality dermatologic services and products.
