Microdermabrasion is suitable for adults and teenagers. The treatment is performed with a device that has tiny crystals designed to buff away the dead layers of surface skin. While results can usually be seen after just one session, most patients require a series of treatments. During the consultation, your doctor and medical aesthetician will be able to determine how many treatments will be recommended to provide optimal results. Between treatments it is important to limit sun exposure and wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 30.
After the session, some patients may notice the skin feels dry, tight and looks pink; this may last for about 24 hours. Make-up should also be avoided for 24 hours. Post-care instructions will be provided to help optimize results.
At DRS Skincare, we are committed to providing cosmetic and medical dermatology services that improve the health and appearance of our patients’ skin. If you would like to learn more about microdermabrasion or some of our other anti-aging treatments, call us today at (905) 524-1712.
