At drs skincare of Hamilton, Ontario, we understand that combatting fine lines and wrinkles that contribute to an aged appearance becomes more of a priority as men and women enter their late 30s and early 40s. The development of imperfections on the skin is often due to increased skin laxity, which results in loose skin that can sag and develop these lines on the face. With the help of a trained and experienced cosmetic provider, you can effectively address these issues and enjoy facial rejuvenation in a single visit. Drs. Rahul Shukla and Jennifer Chuback will evaluate your specific needs and determine if you are a good candidate for injectable treatments like micro-Botox.

What is micro-Botox?

Botox is a neuromodulator commonly used to combat dynamic wrinkles and folds on the face. This is often achieved by injecting the medication into the muscles of the face. However, micro-Botox works differently and has a different approach. With micro-Botox treatment, Botox is diluted and then injected into the superficial layers of the skin as a way of addressing issues like skin laxity, horizontal lines, vertical lines, improvement in skin quality (less “crepey”), improvement in jowls, and vascular rosacea.  It is important that microbotox is considered to be an off label use of medication.

This allows patients to use Botox in two primary ways–to improve the skin’s overall appearance and health and to address the formation of wrinkles and folds associated with the tension of the muscles.  Combining traditional Botox injections with micro-Botox treatment is a tried-and-true way of rejuvenating one’s appearance in a safe, affordable, and effective manner–without invasive plastic surgeries!
