The Canadian Dermatology Association reports even individuals with mild acne are more vulnerable to depression. Additionally, skin diseases like eczema and psoriasis both affect and reflect overall health and well-being; for instance, those with untreated eczema are at greater risk of developing eye diseases, while psoriasis is associated with diabetes.
As specialists in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of skin conditions, our local Burlington, Ontario, area dermatologists at drs skincare in Hamilton appreciate the interaction between the skin and the rest of the body. When the skin isn’t healthy or doesn’t look its best, it has deleterious effects on a person’s quality of life and overall health and well-being.
